Ryuji Takasu lives in a falling down house with his mother, and although being a nice guy is cursed with the evil look of his father causing people to avoid him. Taiga Aisaka is a tiny,self centered and unexpectedly strong girl who lives in a new apartment next to Ryuji but has no idea how to take care of herself. Ryuji looks after her,cooking and cleaning for her and acting as her dog while they both attempt to help each other with their love life. Ryuji Takasu high school student looks mean even though he is a nice guy. He meets Taiga Aisaka a girl who overcompensates for her small stature. Both are romantically interested in a close friend of the other's and so reluctantly agree to help one another. Ryuji Takasu, a high-school student with a gentle and compassionate personality, lives a frustrating existence, as people around him tend to avoid him due to his intimidating appearance. His frustrations increase when he begins to quarrel with Taiga Aisaka, a girl at his school who possesses a violent and fiery temperament despite her petite and innocent appearance.
